As a disabled veteran, I took up scuba diving to help cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) sustained from my time serving as a Combat Medic in the Gulf War. The mantra of scuba diving is to “leave only bubbles, take only memories”. But with TBI, my memory wasn’t quite what it used to be, so I bought a small cheap underwater camera to document my memories of all the beautiful sights there are to see under the ocean waves.
And so began my addiction to photography...
I spent the next few years feeding the addiction by periodically upgrading my underwater camera equipment. At first, I shot strictly underwater, but due to physical restraints caused by injuries sustained in my younger years which finally caught up to me as I got older, I had to give up scuba diving. Still feeling the need to fuel my passion for photography and needing a new coping mechanism for my PTSD and TBI, I purchased new camera equipment to use on land, and here we are today.
As a wildlife and nature photographer, I specialize in capturing the beauty of wildlife and the world in which they live. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for the outdoors, my photography showcases the beautiful landscapes and fascinating animals that inhabit our planet. Through stunning visuals and captivating storytelling, I aim to inspire others to appreciate and protect the natural wonders of our planet. Whether it's a majestic bald eagle soaring through the air in the White Mountains of Arizona or a green moray eel swimming in an underwater paradise off the coast of Honduras, my photographs evoke a sense of wonder and awe, with each photograph telling a unique story. Join me on a visual journey and experience the magic of nature through the lens.
